Galerie Dumonteil is a modern and contemporary art gallery founded in 1982 by Dothi and Pierre Dumonteil. Established for more than 30 years at 38 rue de l’Université in the heart of the historical district of the Carré Rive Gauche, it honors the great figurative sculptors, painters and photographers of the XX and XXI century whose work regularly or occasionally explores the theme of the Animal.
It is renowned for its group and monographic exhibitions dedicated to artists from the 1930s to the 1970s, from François Pompon to Georges-Lucien Guyot, including Diego Giacometti, Pablo Picasso, Thierry Van Ryswyck, Armand Petersen, Joseph Czaky, Marcel Derny and Charles Artus among others.
For more than 20 years, the Gallery has been dedicated to the discovery and promotion of the best contemporary artists dealing with the subject of the Animal figure as well as that of Nature. Today, Daniel Daviau, Jean Marie Fiori, Eric Pillot, Rubén Fuentes, Hubert Le Gall and Wang Keping, Tess Dumon, Henk Van Rensbergen share, with their elders, the walls of its two international exhibition spaces in Paris and Shanghai.
The Galerie Dumonteil has become the reference gallery in the promotion of the representation of the Animal figure in Art in France and in the world notably through its regular collaborations with museums, numerous publications and its participation in numerous international fairs such as the Biennale des Antiquaires since 1992, the Pavillon des Arts et du Design Paris/London/Geneva/Monaco since 1998, and numerous other international fairs such as ART021. She is a member of the CNE, the SNA and the CPGA.
