Galerie Ségolène Brossette
Originally the Gallery, which represents a large majority of French artists, has the vocation to place photography and drawing in contemporary art. Even if the history of photography is much more recent, or the drawing was not intended to be preserved, they are today an integral part of art history.
If the artists of the Gallery use drawing and/or photography, they will also be inspired by and relate to other practices such as performance, painting, writing, dance, design, installation, etc…
Isn’t this what contemporary art is all about?
This is how the Gallery wishes to show that these two arts are each a part of a whole and that it becomes important to have a global vision, to widen the spectrum to better approach the subject.
Beyond the techniques used, the artists each in their own way evoke a sensitivity to the world around us, whether on human nature, the relationship to the living or our civilization.
Since May 2019, the gallery is located at 15 rue Guénégaud, in the 6th arrondissement, just opposite the Monnaie de Paris. A space born from the privileged relationship it maintains with the artists it defends, and which relies on the trust established by a mutual will to work together on the long term.
