Modern Art
Founded by Stuart Shave in 1998, Modern Art is a contemporary art gallery representing over thirty artists. Presenting exhibition of diverse media an scale, it participates in major art fairs. From its inception, Modern Art has supported British based-artists while operating with an international perspective and ambition. For over twenty five years the gallery has operated in various locations around London, beginning in the East End before moving to the West End in 2008. In 2014 Modern Art opened a converted pre-war industrial building on Helmet Row in Clerkenwell and in Spring 2020, opened a second gallery on Burry St, St James’s, Mayfair. In October 2023, the gallery opened a gallery space in Paris, Place de l’Alma followed in September 2025 by the announce of a new 4,700-square-foot space in St James’s as Modern Art’s principal gallery in London.
