31 Project
31 PROJECT is dedicated to the promotion of the African contemporary art scene through multidisciplinary exhibitions of artists from the continent and the diasporas.
31 PROJECT is a central player in the emerging market and networks that are shifting the cartography of international contemporary art. An entity conceived on a flexible model, to react as closely as possible to the actuality of the African scenes and to report on their vitality. A vision that unfolds with a series of exhibitions in their Parisian space and in fairs in France and abroad.
The gallery owner Charles-Wesley Hourdé, who specialises in the classical arts of Africa, Oceania and America, has joined forces with Clémence Houdart, a visual arts consultant, to create and develop a branch of his business dedicated to the African contemporary art scene. Together in 2019, they founded 31 PROJECT.
