Galerie Arts d’australie – Stéphane Jacob
Konstantina is a contemporary Aboriginal artist, descended from the Gadigal people. Passionate about her language, culture and history, much of which has disappeared since colonisation, Konstantina tells the true story of her people through her in-depth research. Konstantina questions the theme of identity by exploring the world of nature. Her work reflects her sensitivity through her reflections on the narrative, which gives an account of the oppressions and struggles endured by her people. By invoking her memories of the missionary movement, she opens up an intercultural dialogue on the wounds of the past and gives her ancestors a voice, bringing Aboriginal culture to life in the present.
Stéphane Jacob, graduated of the Ecole du Louvre, is a member of the Professional Committee of Art Galleries.
Expert in Aboriginal art at the National Chamber of Specialty Experts in works of art and collections, in particular contemporary art and artists of the Torres Strait Islanders, Stéphane Jacob is today recognized as one of the European references in the field, both by collectors and by great museums.
