The Depardieu Gallery is a space dedicated to the singular voices of contemporary art. Having been immersed in the art world for thirty years, Christian Depardieu opened his gallery in 2004.
It is first and foremost a contemporary art gallery presenting the works of artists chosen according to a demanding line, which can be described as “post conceptual”.
In the current movement of standardization and networking of cultures, some artists assert their differences, without always being able to make them recognized. In order to offer these strong individualities an exhibition and meeting space in a cosmopolitan city like Nice, where artists, famous or not, have so often chosen to live and work, the Depardieu gallery is committed to showing, in a very eclectic choice, their work in various mediums: painting, sculpture, photography, video, installation, digital art, performance… Since the opening, more than one hundred and fifty solo exhibitions of emerging or known artists, local or international, have been organized there, as well as group exhibitions.
In order to confront the public with contemporary art, the Depardieu gallery multiplies cultural mediations and regularly opens itself to other disciplines: concerts, theatrical readings, conferences, performances, etc. It has thus become a place for intellectual and musical encounters, a meeting place for artists, appreciated by the people of Nice and by an international audience.
