Galerie PERSON
The PERSON gallery represents and supports artists from the African continent and its diaspora whose work contributes to the global history of art, offering a new perspective on society shaped by their personal stories and experiences. In June 2025, the gallery expanded its international presence by opening a new space in Brussels, at the “Galerie Rivoli.”
Christophe Person’s vision of the contemporary African art scene has been shaped through numerous travels across Africa. As early as 2016, he redefined the auction format by organizing curated and catalogued sales that reflect the richness and diversity of African creativity, highlighting lesser-known geographies and historical periods. Christophe Person aims to stand out “by avoiding commercial production with a repetitive, somewhat too easy or sensationalist aesthetic, and by giving prominence to creation that moves away from trends and fashion effects.”
In addition to his work as a gallery owner, Christophe Person is actively involved in projects across Africa. Alongside Burkinabe photographer Nyaba Léon Ouédraogo, he co-founded and co-chairs BISO, the Ouagadougou International Sculpture Biennial.
