du Comité des Galeries d'Art
01 Oct. 2025
The Professional Committee of Art Galleries (CPGA) presents its 2024 activity report, offering an in-depth analysis of its actions, its commitment to member galleries, and its role in structuring the visual arts sector in France. In 2024, the CPGA continued its mission of representing French galleries to public institutions and private actors, while also actively defending the economic interests of galleries, particularly in matters of taxation and regulation.
The CPGA organized numerous events to showcase galleries. Among them, the Paris Gallery Weekend 2024, which celebrated its 10th anniversary from May 24 to 26, provided a platform for galleries to present their artists and exhibitions. The Committee also supported the Paris Surrealist Tour, in partnership with the Centre Pompidou and the Atelier André Breton Association, where 38 galleries celebrated the Centenary of Surrealism.
The 2024 activity report also highlights the challenges and prospects for the French gallery sector. For the first time, the Committee is publishing its annual barometer, intended to regularly monitor market trends and provide useful indicators for galleries. This initiative will be renewed each year to better support sector actors and inform their strategic decisions.
This report reflects the collective commitment of CPGA members and the results achieved through their mobilization. It also underscores the need to continue efforts to support galleries, strengthen their competitiveness, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the visual arts sector in France.
