06 Mar. 2026
Emerige and Comité Professionnel des Galeries d’Art are pleased to announce that Sofía Salazar Rosales and ChertLüdde are the winners of the 2026 edition of the Emerige – CPGA Prize.
The prize, worth 10 000 € rewards a living artist active on the French scene and the gallery that exhibits him or her at the ARCOMadrid contemporary art fair.
The Emerige – CPGA Prize aims to support the talents of the French art scene and to promote its visibility and influence internationally. It also honors the relationship between artist and gallery. The prize money is shared between the artist and the gallery.
The jury, made up of Béatrice Charon (Art collector), Hiuwai Chu (Head of Exhibitions and Curator at MACBA, Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona), Laurent Dumas (President of Emerige and the Emerige Endowment Fund, collector) represented by Paula Aisembreg (Director of artistic projects at Emerige), Alejandro Lazaro (President of Alhambra Partners, collector), Imma Prieto (Director of Museu Tàpies in Barcelona), and of Markus Reymann (Director of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Art 21 Academy) – had received applications from 39 artists presented by 33 galleries participating in the ARCOMadrid fair.
« We chose Sofía Salazar Rosales for the strength and maturity of her practice, which is particularly remarkable given the youthfulness of her career. Her work articulates local heritage, memory, myths, and traditions, while transforming everyday objects into poetic and symbolic forms. We were particularly impressed by this approach, which is both grounded and open. We were also impressed by the relationship between the artist and the ChertLüdde gallery, which supports her while allowing her real freedom of expression. »
This year, the award ceremony was hosted by the French Ambassador to Spain, Kareen Rispal, and the French Institute in Madrid at the French Residence.
