Publication of Chapter 5 of the Code of ethics
13 Apr. 2026
The Code of Ethics for Art Galleries has been expanded to include a new chapter dedicated to professional relationships between employers and employees.
Adopted in 2026, this Chapter 5 marks an important milestone in the evolution of the Code promoted by the CPGA. It reflects the profession’s commitment to strengthening its unity by fully integrating issues related to the internal operations of galleries. For the first time, the Code establishes an ethical framework for relations between employers and staff, recognizing the essential role of those who contribute to the day-to-day life of galleries.
This new chapter affirms fundamental principles regarding respect for individuals, the prevention of violence and harassment, inclusion, working conditions, and professional dialogue. It is part of a broader effort to harmonize and consolidate the Code, aiming to strengthen its overall coherence and adapt this framework to contemporary developments in the profession.
Chapter 5 is now available in French and English in the Ethics section.
